Executive Committee 2025-2026
Smt.Rashmi Ramachandra
President

I’m a native of Mysore who is living in Murfreesboro, TN (30 miles from Nashville, TN) since 2012 with my husband Manjunath Phulari (native of Kalburgi, Karnataka) and our daughter.
I’m honored to take up the responsibility of being the President of this organization which helps in bringing the Kannada speaking community bound together here. I’ve been actively involved with the NKK and the Kannada community here since we moved to Murfreesboro and I’ve also worked as the cultural Secretary for NKK. NKK has been a home away from home for us with the festivals celebrated together, cultural activities and programs and more importantly getting our kids to enjoy and learn about our traditions and art forms. I look forward to keep the community engaged and closer as we are constantly growing with welcoming new Kannada families into the area.
I’m an avid reader of Kannada novels and books. I’ve been teaching kannada classes in Nashville since 2014 and currently run Siri Kannada Shaale, an online Kannada school in association with Kannada academy.
I’m passionate about finding ways to reduce waste generation, keeping a cleaner environment. I enjoy making vegetarian dishes from different cuisine, gardening, indoor plants and Paper crafting.

I am originally from Kundapur, Karnataka, and have been living in Nashville since 2014. Serving as a board member of Nashville Kannada Koota (NKK) is an honor, as it has helped me connect with like-minded individuals, foster friendships, and celebrate our rich Kannada culture. NKK has provided a platform to learn, network, and be part of Kannada events that keep us rooted in our heritage while building a strong sense of community.
I am passionate about supporting the Kannada community and contributing to its growth. My focus is on promoting social service, preserving our culture, and encouraging youth participation. By supporting NKK’s efforts, I aim to help new families integrate into the community, advocate for cultural preservation, and inspire the younger generation to stay connected to their roots. I am excited to contribute my best to the success of all NKK initiatives for the betterment of our community.
